Job summary

Infosys in Chennai is seeking an experienced ERP consultant to design, configure, and implement SAP-based solutions across business processes.

You will work with BPEs to translate requirements into technical designs, build integrations with MES/PLM, and ensure solutions adhere to Clean Core principles while aligning with global standards. Strong English communication and 8–10+ years' ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years ERP experience with hands-on configuration skills.
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA (preferred) or ECC.
• Expertise in MM, SD, FI, PP, WM/EWM modules.
• Strong knowledge of integration technologies (BTP, APIs, middleware).
• Fluent in English with good communication skills.
• GCC/offshore delivery experience is a plus.
• Collaborative with AMS and SI partners.

Role & responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Configuration

• Design, configure, and implement ERP solutions based on business requirements defined by BPEs
• Ensure alignment with global ERP template and standardized processes
• Maximize use of standard SAP functionalities in line with Clean Core principles
• Maintain high-quality documentation of configurations and solution designs

2. Collaboration with BPE (Business-IT Bridging)

• Work closely with BPEs to refine and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide technical expertise and challenge non-standard requirements where appropriate
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with global standards
• Act as a key contributor to template design and evolution

3. Technical Design & Integration

• Design and implement integrations between ERP and external systems (e.g., MES, PLM, third-party tools)
• Collaborate with Integration/BTP teams for APIs, middleware, and extensions
• Ensure seamless end-to-end process flow across systems
• Support data consistency and interface reliability

4. Clean Core & Solution Governance

• Ensure strict adherence to Clean Core / Core Integrity Principles (CIP)
• Minimize custom code and promote use of standard solutions
• Support decision-making on extensions (BTP) vs core enhancements
• Ensure global consistency of technical solutions

5. Build, Test & Deployment

• Perform configuration and support development during project lifecycle
• Execute and support unit testing, integration testing, and UAT
• Work with BPEs and key users to validate business scenarios
• Resolve defects and ensure solution readiness for deployment

6. Run & AMS Collaboration

• Provide L3 support for complex incidents and problem management
• Collaborate with AMS provider for efficient resolution and continuous improvement
• Ensure proper knowledge transfer, documentation, and handover
• Monitor and improve system stability and performance

7. Continuous Improvement & Automation

• Identify opportunities for process and system optimization
• Support automation initiatives (e.g., test automation, monitoring tools)
• Leverage new SAP technologies (e.g., BTP, AI capabilities where relevant)
• Contribute to ERP innovation and roadmap evolution

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8 - 10+ years of ERP experience (SAP preferred) with strong hands-on configuration skills
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA (preferred) or ECC
• Expertise in at least one functional domain (e.g., MM, SD, FI, PP, WM/EWM)
• Strong understanding of integration technologies (BTP, APIs, middleware)
• Experience working in GCC/offshore delivery model is a plus
• Experience collaborating with AMS and SI partners
• Knowledge of Clean Core and modern ERP architecture
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Fluent in English
