Job Description
Role Overview:
The IT PMO will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and closing projects within the Information Technology (IT) domain. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management proficiency to ensure that IT projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The IT PMO serves as the liaison between various stakeholders, including clients, team members, and executives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Governance:
- Establisha project governance framework with a structured approach to governprojects
- Providevaluable insight and guidance to project teams to ensure that projects runsmoothly, within the budget.
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Collaboratewith key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, anddeliverables.
- Conductfeasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges.
- Assembleand lead cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, motivation,and support.
- Fostera collaborative team culture, encouraging open communication and knowledgesharing.
- Delegatetasks based on team members' strengths and project requirements.
Execution and Monitoring:
- Overseethe day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to theproject plan.
- Monitorproject progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions asnecessary.
- Manageproject resources efficiently, optimizing productivity and addressing anyresource constraints.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Establishand maintain effective communication channels with all projectstakeholders.
- Provideregular project status updates to clients, executives, and team members.
- Addressstakeholder concerns and manage expectations throughout the projectlifecycle.
- Identify,assess, and prioritize project risks, developing mitigation andcontingency plans.
- Proactivelymanage changes in project scope, ensuring minimal impact on timelines andbudgets.
- Anticipateand resolve issues that may arise during project execution.
Quality Assurance:
- Implementand enforce quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meetpredefined standards.
- Conductthorough testing and validation of project outputs to guaranteefunctionality and reliability.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Developand manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Optimizeresource allocation to achieve project objectives within budgetconstraints.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintaincomprehensive project documentation, including project plans, riskregisters, and status reports.
- Prepareand present regular reports on project progress, key metrics, andachievements.
Closure and Evaluation:
- Facilitateproject closure activities, including finalizing deliverables andobtaining client sign-off.
- Conductpost-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas forimprovement.
Skills Required:
- Proficiencyin project management tools and methodologies. Jira & Confluence skilllevels must be 8/10
- Abilityto manage projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Provenexperience in IT project management, with a strong understanding ofsoftware development life cycles
- Excellentleadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving abilities.
- ProjectManagement Professional (PMP) / PRINCE 2 / CSM or equivalent certificationis desirable
- Qualification- BBA, MBA, BSc (Maths/ Physics), MCom, BCA, MCA
