Job summary

HARTING Technology Group in Chennai is seeking an IT Infrastructure professional to install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows desktop and server environments. You will manage physical and virtual servers, file and database servers, and storage systems, while ensuring monitoring, patches, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.

You will lead AD/GP administration, user access control, and support M365, Outlook, and Teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT Infrastructure, System Administration or IT Operations.
• Experience with global or multi-site IT teams is preferred.
• Hands-on skills with servers, desktops and networks are essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows desktop and server environments.
• Manage physical and virtual servers, file servers, DB servers, and storage.
• Monitor servers, patch, upgrade, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Administer AD, Group Policy, user accounts, access rights, and permissions.
• Provide support for Microsoft 365, Office 365, Outlook, Teams, and related tools.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery for servers and endpoints.
• Provide Level 1–2 IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, and devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and network issues.
• Install and maintain desktop hardware, OS, and business apps.
• Support conference room IT, AV, conferencing and telephony systems.
• Conduct user training and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Manage LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, and network connectivity.
• Configure/troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, network appliances.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with global networking teams for WAN support.
• Ensure IT security policies and standards compliance.
• Maintain antivirus, endpoint security, VPN and secure remote access.
• Implement security patches and vulnerability remediation.
• Support data privacy and regulatory compliance activities.
• Support mobile devices and MDM solutions.
• Provision and maintain enterprise mobile devices.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades and rollouts.
• Coordinate with global IT teams, vendors and service providers.
• Maintain IT asset management, ticketing systems and docs.
• Support IT budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and contracts.
• Ensure adherence to global IT standards and processes.
• Support multi-site IT operations and initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery.
• Be the local IT point of contact for stakeholders and global teams.

End User Computing & Support

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and applications.

• Install and maintain desktop hardware, operating systems, and business applications.
• Support conference room IT equipment, audio/video conferencing, and telephony systems.
• Conduct user training sessions and provide technical guidance when required.

Network Administration

• Manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and network appliances.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with central networking teams for WAN and enterprise network support.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with organizational IT security policies and standards.
• Maintain antivirus, endpoint security, VPN, and secure remote access solutions.
• Implement security updates, patches, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support data privacy, intellectual property protection, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Support smartphones, tablets, iPhones, iPads, and mobile device management solutions.
• Provision, configure, and maintain enterprise mobile devices.

IT Operations & Project Support

• Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and rollouts.
• Coordinate with global IT teams, vendors, and service providers.
• Maintain IT asset management, ticketing systems, and infrastructure documentation.
• Support IT budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and maintenance contracts.

Leadership & Process Improvement

• Ensure adherence to global IT standards and processes.
• Support multi-site IT operations and infrastructure initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Act as the local IT point of contact for business stakeholders and global teams.

Required Experience

• 5-12 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, System Administration, or IT Operations.
• Experience supporting enterprise users in a multi-site environment.
• Experience working with global or international IT teams.
• Hands-on expertise in server, desktop, and networking technologies.
• Experience managing IT incidents, requests, and infrastructure projects.
