Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Level 2 System Administrator to join our infrastructure operations team and ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across Tier 3 data center environments.

The role emphasizes core Linux administration, VMware virtualization, and Windows Server expertise. Ideal candidate has hands-on experience with RHEL/ Rocky/ Ubuntu, vSphere, iDRAC/iLO, and enterprise backup solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of Linux tech implementation and management.
• Hands-on Linux administration across RHEL/ Rocky/ Ubuntu.
• Strong VMware vSphere administration and ESXi tooling.
• Experience with Oracle DB on Linux.
• ITIL awareness and incident/change management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability and 99.99% uptime for Tier 3 data center environments.
• Provision, patch, and maintain Enterprise Linux distributions.
• Manage VMware vSphere stack including vCenter, vMotion, Storage vMotion, DRS, HA.
• Administer SAN/NAS storage and clustering in Linux.
• Operate Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco UCS with iDRAC/iLO.
• Support Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, WSUS, IIS) and cross‑platform integration.
• Conduct backups/restores with Veeam/Commvault and ensure restore readiness.
• Serve as L2/L3 escalation with RCA and ITIL-aligned processes.
• Handle Oracle DB on Linux operations and performance tuning.

Tata Semiconductor Assembly & Test (TSAT) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing in IC & SMT Packages.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Packaging facility . This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Role Summary

A hands‑on experienced Level 2 System Administrator to join our infrastructure operations team who will be responsible for maintaining high availability (HA), reliability, and performance across our Tier 3 Data Center environments. The ideal candidate brings strong core Linux administration expertise, hands‑on VMware virtualization management skills, and solid operational knowledge of Windows Server (Wintel) ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Linux Infrastructure Management: Provision, configure, patch, and maintain Enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu Server) to maintain 99.99% uptime SLAs.
• Linux Administration: Deep experience with RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu (systemd, kernel tuning, LVM storage management, user/permission management, shell scripting using Bash/Python).
• Hands‑on experience with vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, Storage vMotion, DRS, HA tuning, and ESXi command‑line utilities (esxcli).
• High Availability & Storage: Practical knowledge of SAN/NAS connectivity (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS), multipathing, and Linux clustering.
• Hardware & Data Center: Experience managing Tier 3 DC hardware platforms (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco UCS) via out‑of‑band management interfaces (iDRAC, iLO).
• Wintel Co‑Administration: Support Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, WSUS, IIS) and handle core cross‑platform integration.
• Ensure daily system backups, snapshot lifecycle management, and enterprise backup/restore tasks (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) complete successfully.
• Act as the L2\L3 escalation point for OS, hypervisor, and hardware incidents. Drive root‑cause analysis (RCA) and follow ITIL framework standards for incident, request, and change management.
• Must have hand on expertise on handling ORACLE DB on Linux (Mandatory)

Sub Responsibilities

• BCP & Disaster Recovery (Own and coordinate Disaster Recovery activities)
• Security & Compliance (Enforce security baselines and hardening standards)
• Act as escalation matrix lead for Wintel Ops ( Predictive Operation Management)

Qualification & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification
• 6+ years of experience on tech implementation & management primarily on LINUX.

(Not just handling Operations.)

• Experience managing large IT Infra at manufacturing domain is an advantage
• ITIL Foundation / ITIL Intermediate, Azure, Microsoft Certified
