Job summary

Ampere, a semiconductor design company, is seeking a SE‑CAD team member to maintain internal and external IPs, perform QA activities, and contribute to physical design and CAD flow to help the PD team meet tape‑out schedules with quality.

Join a collaborative environment in Bengaluru and work with Cadence Genus, Innovus, PrimeTime, RedHawk and Calibre to ensure IP quality, download external IPs, and own IP release and QA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Physical Design (RTL2GDS)/QA/PD-CAD flow.
• Experience in IP QA and debugging activities.
• Familiarity with memory compilers from standard third-party IP vendors.
• Proficiency with CMOS layout concepts and verification methods.
• Strong TCL/Perl scripting ability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal and external IPs and ensure QA quality.
• Support physical design activities and CAD flow development.
• Download and maintain external IPs and release mechanisms.
• Collaborate with in-house IP team for IP quality.
• Own QA processes for libraries including third-party IP.
• Participate in CAD flow development and support.
• Ensure timely delivery of required files with design team.

About the Role

As a member of the SE‑CAD Team, you will be responsible for maintaining internal & external IPs, performing QA activities to ensure the quality of the IPs, involving in physical design activities and CAD flow development to help the PD team meet tape‑out schedules with utmost quality.

What You'll Achieve

• Implement highly critical wrappers (RTL2GDS).
• Work closely with the design team and ensure timely delivery of required files.
• Download and maintain external IPs.
• Work with the in‑house IP Team and ensure the quality of IPs.
• Own Q/A process for various libraries including third‑party IP and in‑house libraries.
• Own the in‑house as well as external IP release mechanism.
• Participate in physical design activities.
• Work in CAD‑flow development/support.

About You

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Physical Design (RTL2GDS)/QA/PD‑CAD flow
• Experience in IP QA and debugging activities.
• Familiarity with memory compilers from standard third‑party IP vendors.
• Familiarity with the following EDA tools and the required files/views for them:
• Cadence tools (Genus, Innovus)
• Synopsys (Prime Time)
• Apache (RedHawk)
• Mentor (Calibre)
• Good knowledge of CMOS circuit design fundamentals.
• Understanding of CMOS layouts is desired.
• Good knowledge in TCL/Perl scripting.
• Diligent attention to the details required.
• Excellent communication skills.
