Job summary

Ampere in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Physical Design / CAD to lead and advance high-performance PD flows for modern CPU designs.

You will develop and maintain CAD flows, collaborate with PD teams, debug issues, run test designs on latest tech, and automate practices to improve area, power and timing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills
• Experience in physical design CAD flow including synthesis, place & route, and floor planning
• Preferred: power distribution, static timing analysis and physical design verification
• Experience in hierarchical P&R and flow development
• Experience with all aspects of PD including floorplanning, power distribution, pad ring construction, placement, CTS, and routing
• Understand hierarchical P&R issues including top‑level floorplanning, pin assignment, clock distribution, critical‑signal handling, hierarchical abstractions (black‑box, ILM, etc.)
• Strong TCL/Perl/Makefile scripting knowledge
• Experience in developing complex algorithms, managing, and regressing P&R flows
• Familiar with chip‑finishing issues (metal‑fill, spare cells, DFM rules, boundary cells, etc.) for latest generations of process technologies; experience with tool set such as Cadence Genus, Cadence Innovus, Mentor Calibre is a big plus

About the role

Ideal candidates will develop and maintain physical design flows for high performance designs.
