Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a creative bent of mind with a strong interest in investment deal sourcing and scouting across a wide range of Technology industry verticals (AI, Data Analytics, Cloud, Consulting, B2B SaaS, FinTech, etc.) In this role, you will take on various responsibilities such as leading deal sourcing, networking and outreach activities within the assigned Technology sector(s). The ideal candidate should possess strong written communication skills and the ability to craft thoughtful, well-researched and personalized outreach for entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors and other senior stakeholders. A natural curiosity for technology businesses, coupled with the ability to identify, research and qualify opportunities through extensive secondary research and market intelligence, will be highly valued.

Experience supporting or running investment, deal sourcing or M&A outreach campaigns, from campaign design and execution to tracking engagement metrics and reporting effectiveness; would be a plus. The role requires a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and an enthusiasm for building meaningful relationships across the technology, startup and investment ecosystem.

Job Description

• Leading M&A and Investment sourcing, networking and outreach activities for the assigned Technology sector(s). This involves building relations with Tech founders, investment banking professionals, institutional investors and strategic acquirers
• Researching Technology companies across different sub sectors including AI, Cloud, Data Analytics, Product Engineering, etc. based on certain key parameters that help qualify leads and developing company profiles, market maps and investment intelligence to support sourcing and origination efforts
• Building and maintaining key information repository and contact databases with high accuracy, while continuously enriching and validating company, founder and investor information from public and proprietary sources
• Planning and organising investor/CxO networking events and specialised investment industry thought leadership panels
• Coordinating and scheduling discovery calls with qualified companies, investors, etc. and manage emails/follow ups proactively
• Conduct secondary research based on the specific technology sector and conduct market analysis

Key Requirements:

• An individual with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain good judgment in a fast-paced, startup like environment
• Minimum relevant experience of 6 months to 2 years in investment sourcing, scouting, venture capital, startup ecosystems, investment banking, corporate development, business development, partnerships, consulting or related roles. Prior experience engaging with founders, technology companies or investment stakeholders will be an advantage
• Educational background: MBA finance, CFA L2 cleared candidates or graduates with relevant experience as mentioned above
• A curious individual whose is a passionate researcher of tech companies, emerging business models and evolving industry trends
• Possess a strong interest in identifying and developing opportunities through insightful secondary research, company profiling and market mapping
• Familiarity with tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, Crunchbase, Tracxn, PitchBook and other company intelligence or prospecting platforms is preferred
• Exposure to technology sectors such as AI, Data Analytics, B2B SaaS, Cloud, Cybersecurity, FinTech, Digital Transformation or IT Services through work experience/internships would be a plus.
• Must have strong inner drive and self-discipline, proficiency in MS Excel
• Fluent written and spoken English and overall strong communication and tele-calling skills
