Job summary

Clayco Cosmetics in Mumbai’s Lower Parel area is seeking an Inventory Planning & Control professional with hands-on D2C and retail operations experience. You will own end-to-end inventory accuracy across warehouses, stores, and related stock-holding locations, driving proactive gaps analysis and corrective actions.

You will build MIS and dashboards using Advanced Excel and Power BI, collaborating with Ops, Warehouse, Finance and E-commerce teams to reduce losses and improve working capital.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years hands-on D2C / E-commerce / Retail Operations experience.
• Strong practical experience in inventory operations and stock control.
• Experience handling inventory across warehouses, stores, dark stores or multiple locations.
• Advanced Excel is mandatory.
• Power BI is mandatory.
• Hands-on Uni-commerce experience – mandatory.
• Strong understanding of inventory reconciliation, stock audits, shrinkage and inventory movement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work with large datasets and identify anomalies and trends.
• Strong ownership, attention to detail and execution ability.
• Candidates with only MIS/reporting experience and limited operational exposure will not be suitable.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end inventory planning, control, reconciliation and stock accuracy across locations.
• Ensure zero unexplained inventory shortages across warehouses, stores, dark stores and workplaces.
• Monitor physical vs. system stock and investigate inventory variances.
• Identify and control shrinkage, pilferage, damages, leakage, stock adjustments, returns and gaps.
• Track inventory movement from warehouse to dark store/store fulfilment to customer.
• Conduct stock audits, cycle counts and physical inventory checks regularly.
• Reconcile inventory across Uni-commerce, warehouses, marketplaces and internal systems.
• Analyse SKU, location and channel-level inventory performance.
• Monitor stock ageing, excess stock, dead stock, fast/slow-moving SKUs and stock-outs.
• Establish and strengthen inventory control processes, SOPs and audit mechanisms.
• Investigate root causes of discrepancies and drive corrective actions with Ops, Warehouse, Finance and E‑commerce teams.
• Build MIS, commercial dashboards and reports using Advanced Excel and Power BI.
• Provide data-driven insights to improve inventory utilisation and working capital.
• Ensure timely closure of inventory discrepancies and maintain audit trails.
