Job summary

At Cimpress India, we seek an Internal Control Specialist to join our Internal Audit Team in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. You will test and validate internal controls, document results, and report exceptions to stakeholders.

You will work with control owners across functions, contribute to control testing strategies, and help standardize processes with strong Excel-based documentation and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degrees in Accounting, IT, or related fields.
• 1-2 years of external or internal audit experience, preferably with internal controls experience in a stock-listed company or a Big 4 background or in a large global company.
• Prior experience and understanding of internal controls testing (SOX) for a large global company.
• High level of fluency in English for effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills are required.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Proactiveness and a problem-solving mindset; strong project management and a self-starter mentality.
• Proficiency in Excel is required; fast adoption of new technologies or applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the Internal Audit Team at a high-growth and technology-driven organization.
• Build an understanding of the company's business and its governance activities captured in internal control risk matrices and narratives.
• Assist in end-to-end execution of internal controls testing for a specified scope.
• Select instances of internal controls to validate based on internal guidance.
• Create population and sample requests for control testing and coordinate with control owners.
• Complete testing over key business cycles (Accounting/Finance, Consolidations, Logistics, IT).
• Document testing results in established standards for internal and external reviews.
• Conclude on operating effectiveness of tested controls and report exceptions to stakeholders.
• Maintain testing instructions for knowledge sharing and standardization.
• Assist in creating testing sheets in the internal controls testing system.
• Interact with control owners at all levels and assist team on ad-hoc tests or projects.

What will you do as an Internal Control Specialist?

• Be a part of the Internal Audit Team at a high-growth and technology-driven organization.
• Build an understanding of the company's business and its governance activities captured in the internal control risk matrices and narratives.
• Assist in the timely end-to-end execution of internal controls testing for a specified scope:
• Based on internal guidance, select instances of internal controls to validate.
• Create the detailed population and sample requests for control testing and follow up with the control owners, as necessary.
• Complete internal control testing over key business process cycles (Accounting/Finance, Consolidations, Logistics, etc.) and IT.
• Document the controls testing in the appropriate standards for internal and external reviews.
• Conclude on the operating effectiveness of the controls tested.
• Report exceptions identified in testing internally to key stakeholders.
• Maintain the internal control testing instructions for enhanced knowledge sharing and standardization across all team members.
• Help with the creation of testing sheets in the internal controls testing system.
• Interact and build relationships with control owners at all levels of the organization.
• Assist team members on ad-hoc tests or projects.

What do you need to be an Internal Control Specialist?

• Associate or bachelor's degrees in Accounting, IT, or related fields.

• Basic knowledge of main business cycle processes and concepts e.g., purchase to pay, revenue to cash, and others.
• High level of personal integrity, accountability, and commitment to meet company and departmental goals.
• High level of fluency in English for effective written and verbal communication skills. Additional language skills are a plus.
• Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills are required.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Proactiveness and a problem-solving mindset are a must.Strong project management skills and a self-starter mentality are necessary.
• Proficiency in Excel is required. Fast adoption of new technologies or applications is a plus.
