Job summary

JobItUs in Bengaluru is seeking a creative Interior Designer to own the design of functional, aesthetically pleasing residential spaces, from concept through execution.

You will handle space planning, material selection, 2D drawings with AutoCAD, 3D visuals with SketchUp/Enscape/Lumion, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and vendors to deliver projects on time.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 2–5 years of interior design experience, preferably residential.
• Strong knowledge of space planning, ergonomics, and interior execution.

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and passionate Interior Designer who can take ownership of designing functional, aesthetically pleasing, and client-centric interior spaces.

The role involves space planning, concept development, material and finish selection, 3D visualization, client interaction, and coordination with vendors and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

The ideal candidate should have strong design sensibilities along with practical execution skills and proficiency in 3D visualization tools to effectively communicate design concepts through realistic renderings and walkthroughs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Space Planning & Design Development
   • Understand client requirements, lifestyle preferences, functional needs, and budgets.
   • Develop customized interior design concepts based on client requirements.
   • Create detailed layout plans, mood boards, and design concepts balancing aesthetics and functionality.
   • Prepare working drawings and detailed design documentation for execution.
   • Ensure designs are practical, ergonomic, and aligned with project requirements.
2. Material & Finish Selection
   • Recommend and select appropriate furniture, fixtures, fabrics, flooring, lighting, finishes, and accessories.
   • Source and curate materials based on design quality, project budget, and sustainability.
   • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for material selection and availability.
   • Ensure consistency of materials and finishes with the overall design concept.
3. 2D & 3D Visualization
   • Create accurate 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.
   • Develop high-quality 3D models and visualizations using SketchUp, Enscape, and Lumion.
   • Prepare presentation boards, mood boards, and walkthroughs for client presentations.
   • Create realistic visualizations to effectively communicate design concepts.
   • Make design modifications based on client feedback.
4. Client Interaction & Coordination
   • Understand client expectations and translate them into practical design solutions.
   • Present design concepts and explain layouts, materials, finishes, and visualizations to clients.
   • Coordinate with clients throughout different stages of the project.
   • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
   • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure execution aligns with the approved design.
5. Project & Vendor Management
   • Coordinate with vendors, carpenters, suppliers, and contractors for smooth execution.
   • Monitor material procurement, deliveries, and installation schedules.
   • Track project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
   • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely completion.
   • Resolve design and execution-related issues at the site in coordination with relevant teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably in residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of space planning, ergonomics, design principles, and interior execution.

Proficiency in:

• AutoCAD

• Knowledge of Photoshop or 3ds Max will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and interior detailing.

• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
