Job Description Staff Nurse | Critical Care & Intensive Care

Position

Staff Nurse – ICU / Critical Care / Emergency

Departments

• ICU – Intensive Care Unit

Experience Required

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in Intensive Care / Critical Care Nursing.
• Candidates should have hands‑on experience in a Corporate / Tertiary‑Care Hospital with 200+ beds.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in established corporate hospitals and high‑volume critical‑care environments.

Strong preference: Nurses having 2+ years of relevant ICU / Critical Care experience in a 200+ bedded Corporate / Tertiary‑Care Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe and quality nursing care to critically ill patients as per hospital protocols.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythm, neurological status, oxygen saturation, and other critical parameters.
• Provide nursing care to patients on ventilators, oxygen therapy, infusion pumps, and other critical‑care equipment.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist doctors during emergency procedures, intubation, resuscitation, invasive procedures, and other critical interventions.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and demonstrate competency in BLS/CPR.
• Monitor patients continuously and immediately report any deterioration in clinical condition.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation, patient records, medication charts, and shift handover reports.
• Provide care and monitoring for central lines, arterial lines, drains, catheters, and other invasive devices as applicable.
• Follow infection‑control, patient‑safety, biomedical‑waste, and hospital SOP requirements.
• Maintain emergency equipment, crash carts, medications, and critical‑care supplies.
• Coordinate effectively with consultants, doctors, respiratory therapists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide appropriate communication and support to patients and their attendants.
• Follow NABH standards and hospital quality and safety protocols.

Eligibility

• B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the relevant State Nursing Council.
• 2+ years of relevant ICU / Critical Care experience.
• Experience in ICU / NICU / CCU / Critical Care / Trauma / Emergency.
• Corporate Hospital experience preferred.
• Experience in a 200+ bedded hospital strongly preferred.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
• Good clinical knowledge, communication skills, teamwork, and emergency‑response capabilities.
