Responsibilities
- Insurance Program Management: Design, implement, and manage the company's global insurance programs, including property, casualty, liability, and other specialized lines of coverage.
- Risk Assessment: Identify, analyze, and evaluate potential risks to the organization's assets, operations, and financial stability. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks through insurance and other risk management techniques.
- Broker and Underwriter Relations: Manage relationships with insurance brokers, underwriters, and third‑party administrators. Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and premiums to ensure optimal coverage at competitive rates.
- Claims Management: Oversee the entire claims process, from initial reporting to final settlement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, brokers, and adjusters to ensure timely and favorable resolution of claims.
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure all insurance activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Maintain accurate records of all insurance policies, claims, and related documentation.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Develop and manage the annual insurance budget. Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of insurance programs, claims, and risk exposures.
- Training and Awareness: Educate internal teams on insurance policies, risk management best practices, and claims procedures to foster a risk‑aware culture.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and select insurance‑related vendors and service providers.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, emerging risks, and new insurance products to continuously improve the company's insurance program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPCU, ARM) is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate insurance or risk management role.
- Proven track record of managing complex insurance programs and large claims.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- In‑depth knowledge of various insurance products, including D&O, E&O, cyber liability, and general liability.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
