Job summary

Saipem is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to lead instrumentation activities on oil & gas projects in Chennai. The role requires hands-on sizing, control systems, and compliance with international codes and standards.

You will collaborate with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams, review P&IDs, and contribute to FEED and basic engineering, with a focus on safety and quality. A B.E. in engineering and 5+ years of field experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in oil & gas instrumentation with exposure to offshore and LNG preferred.
• B.E. in Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality, budget, and schedule compliance for instrumentation activities.
• Execute proposals, man-hour estimation, EPC development, and FEED/basic engineering.
• Strong knowledge of international instrumentation codes and standards.
• Participate in SIL, HAZOP, FAT, and other safety/quality activities.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams; review P&IDs and specifications.
• Prepare/review MTOs, RFQs, TBEs, VDRs, and key design deliverables (layouts, wiring, hook-ups).
• Hands-on in instrument sizing, control systems (DCS, ESD, FGS), and SPI (INTOOLS).
