Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development team in Chennai. You will design and develop learner-centric training for enterprise and digital environments, applying instructional design methods and collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders.

About the Role

As an Instructional Designer, you will design and develop innovative, learner-centric training solutions for enterprise and digital learning environments. This role requires expertise in instructional design methodologies, content development, stakeholder management, and modern learning technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end learning solutions aligned with business and learner needs.
• Conduct training needs analysis and define learning objectives and instructional strategies.
• Develop content for ILT, VILT, e-learning, microlearning, blended learning, and digital learning programs.
• Create storyboards, facilitator guides, learner guides, assessments, and other learning assets.
• Apply instructional design frameworks including ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy, and Adult Learning Principles.
• Collaborate with SMEs, business stakeholders, trainers, designers, and technology teams.
• Design assessments and knowledge checks to measure learning effectiveness.
• Utilize learning technologies and authoring tools to create engaging digital learning experiences.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
• Stay current with emerging trends in AI-enabled learning, instructional design, and learning technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Design, or Content Development.
• Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
• Expertise in developing digital and blended learning solutions.
• Strong skills in curriculum design, storyboarding, content structuring, and assessment development.
• Experience working with SMEs and senior business stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple learning projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in corporate/enterprise learning environments.
• Exposure to LMS/LXP platforms and learning technology ecosystems.
• Experience with AI-assisted content development tools.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and digital learning best practices.
