Job summary

Brenntag India is seeking a Food Technologist/R&D professional to provide technical solutions across savoury, seasoning, and snack segments. The role involves conducting laboratory and pilot plant trials independently and collaborating with commercial teams to drive new business and support suppliers.

Responsibilities include evaluating blends, working with Blended Solutions Team, and sharing knowledge with regional technical teammates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science/Technology/Food Chemistry/Food Engineering with relevant technical experience.
• Minimum 10 years working experience as Food Technologist/Research & Development in Food & Beverage industry.
• Experience across various food segments including plant-based/hybrid solutions for local or overseas markets.
• Experience in application of various food ingredients and blends of ingredients.
• Experience in developing and presenting trends, new solutions and prototypes with customer interface.
• Good knowledge of food nutrition and its application.
• Self-motivated and result oriented.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Hands-on person who can design and conduct laboratory trials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on laboratory trials to evaluate functionality and performance of ingredients and solutions across savoury, seasoning and snack categories.
• Handle processing equipment used for savoury, seasoning, snack, and dairy segments.
• Ensure on-time completion of customer projects and internal applications projects to verify ingredient performance from various suppliers.
• Work closely with the commercial team to ensure rapid response to customer needs and new business or existing business.
• Collaborate with marketing for activities like tradeshows and Innovation Days.
• Collaborate with Blended Solutions Team to create innovative solution blends and roll them out in the market.
• Introduce and train new solution blends to technical and commercial teammates from other regions as needed.
• Identify opportunities for new products or applications from current and new suppliers and trends.
• Provide training on Brenntag’s product portfolio (including blends) to commercial teams and customers.

Requirements
