Job summary

Alstom is seeking an experienced Industrial Manager in Gurugram, India to drive the industrialisation of overhaul activities and optimize methods, processes, and tools across repair centres.

You will collaborate with Maintenance, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to develop deliverables, validate on-site performance, and contribute to make-or-buy decisions while promoting safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical field (BE/B-Tech).
  • 8+ years of industrial experience in railway, total 12–16 years.
  • Experience in methods engineering, writing and improving work instructions, line balancing, and lean manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with SAP for BOM, routings and configuration follow-up.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA, and PLM tools; able to read schematics and drawings.
  • Understanding of rolling stock maintenance and LCC analysis; capable to develop business cases.
  • Familiarity with Quality and Safety standards; APSYS is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrialisation of maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities.
  • Develop macro-processes, work instructions, layouts, and standard operation sheets.
  • Define and implement training plans for industrial topics and overhauls.
  • Validate deliverables on-site with maintenance teams.
  • Collaborate with design teams to embed industrial constraints in equipment.
  • Support tenders for overhaul estimates and drive safety/quality improvements.
  • Capture lessons learned and share best practices with central teams.

Take on a new challenge and apply your industrialisation expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and driven teammates.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the seamless industrialisation of maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities, driving efficiency and safety across our repair centres in India. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as the Maintenance Performance Centre, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams), lead the development of industrial deliverables, and validate processes in the field, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and compliance standards.

You’ll specifically take care of defining and implementing methods, processes, and tools for high-quality overhaul operations, but also lead the business case for make-or-buy strategies and foster continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Leading the industrialisation of technical documentation for overhaul activities while adhering to Standard Manufacturing Processes and guidelines.
  • Developing and implementing industrial deliverables, such as macro-processes, work instructions, workstation layouts, task sequences, and Standard Operations Sheets.
  • Defining and implementing training plans for industrial topics and special processes related to overhauls.
  • Validating industrial deliverables, tools, and means on-site with maintenance execution teams.
  • Collaborating with design teams to ensure industrial constraints are incorporated into new and renovated equipment.
  • Supporting tenders for overhaul estimates and contributing to strategies that enhance safety, performance, and quality.
  • Developing industrial expertise, capturing lessons learned, and sharing best practices with central teams.
All About You
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (BE/B-Tech).
  • 8+ years of industrial experience in the railway industry, with a total professional experience of 12–16 years.
  • Experience in methods engineering, including writing and improving work instructions, line balancing, and lean manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems like SAP for Bill of Materials, Routings, and configuration follow-up.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA, and PLM tools, with the ability to interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Understanding of rolling stock maintenance, Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis, and business case development.
  • Familiarity with Quality, Health & Safety standards, and APSYS practices is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous learning and development.
