Job Summary
Industrial Engineer responsible for improving productivity, optimizing processes, and driving cost efficiency across manufacturing/operations through data-driven analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current production processes and identify improvement opportunities (cycle time, layout, manpower optimization).
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives for productivity improvement.
- Conduct time studies, method studies, and line balancing to enhance efficiency.
- Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and reduce downtime.
- Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and process documentation.
- Support layout planning and plant optimization (space utilization, material flow).
- Monitor and improve KPIs: Productivity, Cost, Quality, Delivery.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support new product/line introductions and process validation.
- Identify and implement cost reduction projects (manpower, material handling, cycle time).
- Ensure adherence to safety and ergonomics standards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, Line Balancing).
- Basic understanding of Six Sigma / DMAIC methodology.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis), PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of time study tools (MOST, MTM preferred).
- Exposure to manufacturing KPIs like OEE, RFT, productivity metrics.
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD / layout tools (preferred).
Educational Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- 2–4 years in manufacturing / operations environment (automotive preferred).
