INDUSTRY: Aerospace and Defence
SUMMARY:We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Industrial Designer to join our innovative team, specializing in advanced product development within robotics and aerospace industries. The idealcandidate will combine artistic vision with deep expertise in CAD/CAM software and design foranufacturing (DFM), driving the creation of high-performance, scalable, and manufacturable products. You will play a pivotal role in transforming conceptual ideas into tangible, market-ready solutions byleveraging cutting-edge design tools, engineering principles, and industry-specific standards. Your workwill directly influence product functionality, manufacturability, and user experience across complexsystems in robotics and aerospace applications. This role demands a forward-thinking mindset, strongcollaboration skills, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of design innovation in technicallydemanding environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and development of industrial designs for robotics and aerospacesystems using advanced CAD/CAM software.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensureoptimal manufacturability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, production, and R&D teams to translate technicalrequirements into user-centric, functional designs.
- Develop detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and prototypes using CAD tools, ensuringcompliance with engineering and safety standards.
- Conduct design evaluations and iterate based on feedback from stakeholders, testing, andperformance analysis.
- Support prototyping efforts using rapid manufacturing techniques and evaluate prototypes forform, fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Integrate materials, finishes, and surface treatments with consideration for environmental, mechanical, and thermal demands in aerospace and robotic applications.
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation, including Bill of Materials (BoM), designspecifications, and version control.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends in robotics, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.
- Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and design validation processes aligned withindustry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, ISO, ASME).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in industrial design with strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software(e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Siemens NX, CATIA).
- Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), andDesign for Sustainability (DfS).
- Hands-on experience in robotics and/or aerospace product design, including familiarity withlightweight materials, structural integrity, and environmental resilience.
- Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining) and end-to-end productdevelopment lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metalfabrication, and composite layup.
- Excellent visualization and communication skills, with ability to present concepts throughsketches, renderings, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards relevant to aerospace and robotics(e.g., FAA, EASA, ISO 13485, MIL-STD).
