Job summary

Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Pune invites applications for a Staff Nurse to deliver high quality patient care while ensuring safety and comfort. You will adhere to protocols and best practices for optimal health outcomes.

Key duties include patient admission, discharge processes, medication administration, monitoring vital signs, wound care, catheterizations, and post-operative care. You will participate in emergency codes and uphold infection control and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Operational reception and orientation of newly admitted patients.
• Perform Admission, Transfer and Discharge procedure with accuracy.
• Assess, Plan and Implement patient care based on Needs.
• Administer medications, IV Fluids, Injections and other treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and Document Vital Signs, Fluid balance and Clinical observations regularly.
• Assist in and Perform Nursing procedures such as wound dressings, Catheterizations, NG Tube feeding, Preoperative Post operative Care and assist in medical procedures.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report critical changes.
• Ensure infection control Protocols and Biomedical waste segregation guidelines are strictly followed.
• Operate and handle Bio-medical equipment like Sphygmomanometer, ECG Machine, and Defibrillator etc safely and efficiently.
• Follow complete hand over/takeover of assigned patients including physically checking patients and their units.
• Checks special assignments like checking of Dressing Trolley, inventory and any other assignment given by Team Leader.
• Attends all in-service education programs, External Workshop and certification programs for continuous skill enhancement.
• Participate in Emergency Situations e.g. Code Blue, Code Pink etc.
• Customer Related - Provide empathetic, respectful and confidential care to patients and families.
• Educate patients and families regarding the treatment plan, medications, home care or post care instructions.
• Offer emotional support and promote patient safety at every stage of care.
• Respond to patient and family concerns promptly and *escalate* issues appropriately.
• Address patient concerns professionally and *escalate* issues when needed.
• Administration Related - Maintain accurate documentation of care delivered including Nurses notes, medications record etc.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations and ethical standards.
• Report and Record Incidents or adverse events as per hospital Policy.
• Support Orientation and mentoring of newly joined Nurses or Trainees.
• Manage and Maintain Ward Inventory - Consumables, Medications/ Impress Stock and Equipments.
