Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking a Sourcing Specialist – Indirect Procurement in India to lead sourcing across indirect categories, driving value through cost optimization and stakeholder alignment.

You will partner with cross-functional teams and global procurement to implement sourcing strategies, deliver savings, and support CAPEX-related projects in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in sourcing/procurement in multinational companies.
• Strong indirect procurement experience and category management across services.
• Proven track record delivering cost savings and negotiations.
• Experience managing stakeholders and influencing decisions across functions.
• CAPEX or logistics sourcing exposure is a plus.
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute indirect procurement sourcing strategies in India as local focal point.
• Develop category management for indirect spend areas to maximize value and efficiency.
• Build and optimize supplier relationships and establish preferred pools aligned with global standards.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to deliver cost savings and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, IT, R&D, Engineering and more.
• Drive OPEX and CAPEX cost optimization programs.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform strategy.
• Lead supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SOX and quality standards.

About the Job

As a Sourcing Specialist – Indirect Procurement, you will lead sourcing activities across a broad range of indirect categories in India, driving value through cost optimization, supplier strategy, and stakeholder alignment.

You will partner closely with cross-functional teams and global procurement to implement sourcing strategies, deliver savings, and support business initiatives, including CAPEX-related projects and expansion plans. The ideal candidate will bring strong category management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in driving procurement value within a multinational environment.

What will you do?

• Manage and execute sourcing strategies across indirect procurement categories, acting as the local business focal point in India
• Develop deep expertise in indirect spend areas and drive structured category management to maximize value and efficiency
• Build, manage, and optimize supplier relationships, establishing preferred supplier pools aligned with global standards
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation
• Partner with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, IT, R&D, Engineering and other functions to align sourcing strategies with business needs
• Drive indirect procurement savings initiatives, including OPEX and CAPEX cost optimization programs
• Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and category dynamics to support strategic decision-making
• Lead supplier performance management, including issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and procurement standards (including SOX and quality standards)
• Collaborate with global procurement teams to implement global strategies and initiatives within the local market
• Support future business growth initiatives, including manufacturing capacity expansion and related procurement activities

What do we look for?

Experience:

• 5–7+ years of experience in sourcing, or procurement roles within multinational companies
• Strong experience in indirect procurement and category management across multiple service areas
• Proven track record in delivering cost savings, supplier negotiations and sourcing strategy execution
• Experience managing stakeholders and influencing decision-making across functions
• Exposure to CAPEX or logistics sourcing is a plus
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree required; degree in business, engineering, supply chain or related field preferred.

Language skills: English at a professional level is required
