Job summary

Quaker Houghton in India seeks a Senior Sourcing Specialist – Indirect Procurement & Packaging to lead sourcing across indirect and packaging categories for operations in India, Thailand and Australia. You will develop and execute category strategies, drive savings, and collaborate with regional stakeholders and global teams.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in indirect procurement, strong stakeholder management, and experience in multinational environments.

Job description

As a Senior Sourcing Specialist – Indirect Procurement & Packaging, you will lead sourcing activities across a broad portfolio of indirect and packaging categories supporting operations in India, Thailand and Australia.

You will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, delivering savings, driving supplier performance, and implementing procurement initiatives across multiple countries. Working closely with regional stakeholders, global procurement teams, and business leaders, you will help standardize processes, optimize supplier networks, and deliver value through strategic sourcing and category management.

The ideal candidate will bring strong indirect procurement expertise, proven stakeholder management skills, and experience operating within multinational and multi-country environments.

What will you do?

• Manage sourcing activities across indirect procurement and packaging categories in India, Thailand and Australia
• Act as the regional focal point for assigned categories and develop deep category expertise
• Develop and execute category strategies that drive value, cost optimization, risk reduction, and supplier performance improvements
• Build, maintain and optimize supplier relationships, establishing preferred supplier pools aligned with global procurement standards
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to deliver structural savings, cost avoidance and service improvements
• Partner with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, R&D, Finance and Administrative functions
• Drive OPEX and CAPEX savings initiatives and support business growth and expansion projects
• Lead sourcing projects using structured procurement methodologies, market intelligence, spend analysis and should-cost approaches
• Support procurement transformation, supplier consolidation and process standardization initiatives across the region
• Analyze market trends, supplier performance and category dynamics to support strategic decision-making
• Manage supplier performance issues, corrective action plans and continuous improvement programs
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, SOX controls and quality standards
• Collaborate closely with global procurement teams to implement regional and global procurement initiatives
• Support logistics-related sourcing activities, including transportation, warehousing and related services where required

What do we look for?

Experience

• 5–7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, category management or commercial roles within multinational organizations
• Strong experience managing indirect procurement categories in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Experience managing procurement across multiple countries, regions or business units is highly desirable
• Experience sourcing packaging, logistics, warehousing or transportation services is an advantage
• Proven track record delivering cost savings and procurement value through strategic sourcing initiatives
• Experience leading both OPEX and CAPEX sourcing projects
• Strong stakeholder management experience across multiple functions and cultures
• Experience implementing category strategies, supplier consolidation and procurement transformation initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive change within organizations

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics or related field preferred.

Language Skills

Professional English communication skills are required.
