Job summary

PwC offers an Associate – India Payroll role to manage end-to-end payroll operations for employees in India, leveraging Workday and Dayforce, with proactive compliance and strong stakeholder collaboration.

You will ensure accuracy, address complex payroll queries, and work with HR, Finance, Tax, and external vendors to maintain controls and deliver timely payroll processing in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in India payroll processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday and Dayforce.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll operations and payroll controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
  • Sound knowledge of Indian payroll statutory compliance and taxation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing for India payroll within defined timelines.
  • Validate payroll inputs including new hires, exits, salary revisions, variable pay, bonuses, reimbursements, and statutory deductions.
  • Perform Gross-to-Net (G2N) payroll validation to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Review payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues before payroll finalization.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory regulations including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, TDS, and other payroll-related requirements.
  • Support payroll audits and maintain payroll documentation and records.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Tax, and external payroll vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Manage employee payroll queries and provide timely resolution for both routine and complex payroll-related issues.
  • Utilize Workday and Dayforce systems for payroll input management, validation, reporting, and employee data administration.
  • Participate in payroll process improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, payroll policies, and compliance requirements.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate – India Payroll to manage end-to-end payroll operations for employees in India. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of payroll processing, statutory compliance, payroll validations, and HRIS/payroll systems such as Workday and Dayforce. The role requires the ability to handle complex payroll queries, ensure payroll accuracy, and deliver a high level of employee support.
