Job summary

The Hartford in Hyderabad, India is seeking an IND Staff Software Engineer to own design and delivery within enterprise Employee Benefits applications. You will design and maintain .NET Framework and .NET Core services, APIs, and batch jobs while collaborating across teams to meet business goals.

You will translate requirements, participate in Agile ceremonies, review code, and accelerate development with AI-assisted tools, ensuring quality, security, and compliance throughout the software

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade .NET applications.
• Strong knowledge of .NET Framework and .NET Core/.NET 8.
• Translate business and technical requirements into secure, maintainable modules and APIs.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and responsible use.
• Active participation in Agile ceremonies and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own design, development, unit/integration testing, implementation, and support for assigned components within enterprise Employee Benefits applications.
• Design andmaintain.NET Framework and .NET Core / .NET 8 services, APIs, backend components, and batch jobs.
• Translate business and technical requirements into secure, maintainable application modules and APIs.
• Use AI-assisted developmenttools responsiblyto accelerate coding, test generation, documentation, analysis, and refactoring whilevalidatingquality, security, and compliance.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, estimation, feature/story refinement, demos, retrospectives, and production readiness discussions.
• Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, architects, QA/SDET, UX, platform, DevOps, and business partners to deliver outcomes, not just code.
• Partner with Java/API, Angular/UI, and QA/SDET engineers when the same business capability spans BFF, domain APIs, UI, integrations, and batch platforms.
• Perform peer code reviews and contribute to engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, accessibility, observability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot production/non-production issues using logs, monitoring dashboards, traces, database analysis, and structured root-cause thinking.
• Support modernization and reverse-engineering of legacy .NET assets, using analysis, tests, documentation, and AI-assisted tools to reduce SME dependency.
