Job summary

Yethi Consulting is seeking an experienced SWIFT Payments Tester to join our Chennai banking technology team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on testing expertise in SWIFT payments, MT/MX messages, and ISO 20022 standards, ensuring accuracy across domestic and international payment flows.

The role requires designing test scenarios, executing end-to-end tests, validating message transformations, and coordinating with Business Analysts and Developers.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in Software Testing / Banking Payments Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in SWIFT Payments Testing.
• Good knowledge of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages.
• Knowledge of payment lifecycle and end-to-end payment processing.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression and system testing.
• Good understanding of payment-related banking processes.
• Good communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing of payment applications.
• Design and execute test scenarios, test cases and test scripts for payment workflows.
• Validate SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages.
• Work with payment message types such as MT103, MT202, PACS.008, PACS.009, CAMT and related messages.
• Validate payment processing, routing, acknowledgements, rejections, reversals and exception scenarios.
• Perform end-to-end testing of domestic and international payment flows.
• Validate message transformation and mapping between MT and MX/ISO 20022 formats.
• Perform API testing using Postman/SOAP UI where applicable.
• Validate backend transaction data using SQL.Log, track and manage defects using JIRA/ALM or similar tools.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers and Banking/Payments teams.
• Support UAT, release validation and production verification activities.
• Participate in requirement analysis and provide testing estimates.
