Job summary

Ensono is seeking an experienced IBM DataPower Administrator to manage, configure, and maintain DataPower Gateway appliances, ensuring secure and high-performance integration across enterprise apps and services.

You will collaborate with development and operations teams, support CI/CD deployments, and ensure compliance with security policies while optimizing performance in multiple environments.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of middleware or enterprise integration administration experience.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux scripting and command-line tools.
• Advanced DataPower Gateway appliance administration and configuration.
• Solid understanding of load balancing and crypto configuration.
• Experience with user access management technologies including RBAC/RBM and LDAP.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues using problem determination tools and diagnostic probes.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We seek an experienced IBM DataPower Administrator to manage, configure, and maintain IBM DataPower Gateway appliances that ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance integration between enterprise applications and services. In this role, you will oversee appliance administration, service configuration, and security compliance while collaborating with development and operations teams to support seamless deployments across our organization.

Core Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, patch, and perform firmware upgrades on IBM DataPower Gateway appliances (such as XI52 and IDG models)
• Manage appliances across development, test, and production environments
• Ensure optimal appliance performance and availability
• Document configuration changes and maintain version control
• Set up and manage core DataPower services including Web Services Proxy (WSP), Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPGW), and XML Firewalls
• Configure gateway services to meet business integration requirements
• Optimize service performance and throughput
• Support both synchronous and asynchronous messaging patterns
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards
• Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and traffic patterns using tools like Grafana/IBM Instana
• Triage and resolve network, routing, and transformation bottlenecks
• Identify and address performance degradation issues
• Conduct detailed problem determination and root cause analysis
• Use advanced troubleshooting tools and probes to diagnose complex issues
• Partner with application development teams to support integration requirements
• Work alongside CI/CD operations teams to ensure seamless deployments
• Support integration with IBM API Connect and IBM MQ platforms
• Provide technical guidance and best practices to development teams

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5 to 8+ yearsof hands-on middleware or enterprise integration administration experience
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux scripting and command-line tools
• Advanced expertise in DataPower Gateway appliance administration and configuration
• Solid understanding of load balancing and crypto configuration
• Experience with user access management technologies including Role-Based Access Management (RBAC/RBM) and LDAP
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues using problem determination tools and diagnostic probes
