Job summary

Ensono in Pune, India seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to manage IBM MQ middleware across Linux/UNIX/Windows environments, ensuring high availability and reliable messaging between distributed applications.

You will configure queue managers, channels, listeners, SSL/TLS security, and manage KeyStore/TrustStore, while building automation with Python, Bash or Ansible to streamline deployments and reduce manual tasks.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of middleware or infrastructure administration experience.
• Advanced IBM MQ administration with queue tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience managing clustered IBM MQ environments in production.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux command-line tools and administration.
• Familiarity with IBM ACE, IIB, Kafka, or WebSphere Application Server.

Responsibilities

• Streamline deployment processes and IaC practices.

Job Summary:

We seek an experienced IBM MQ Administrator to manage and maintain our secure, efficient, and reliable enterprise messaging infrastructure. In this role, you will oversee the installation, configuration, and operational support of IBM MQ middleware, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of queue managers, channels, and related systems that facilitate seamless communication between distributed applications across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure IBM MQ across multiple operating systems including Linux, Unix, Windows and AIX.

• Set up queue managers, channels, listeners, and both remote and local queues according to business requirements

• Implement best practices for middleware architecture and design

• Monitor daily environment health and system performance

• Track queue performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities

• Manage and maintain IBM MQ clusters using industry-standard monitoring tools (Grafana, IBM Instana, or native IBM MQ consoles)

• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

• Design and implement end-to-end SSL/TLS security protocols

• Manage KeyStore and TrustStore configurations

• Execute digital certificate renewals and maintain compliance with security policies

• Ensure secure data transmission across all messaging channels

• Resolve complex channel failures and production disruptions

• Conduct thorough investigations and deliver comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports

• Provide timely escalation and support to application and infrastructure teams

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Ansible

• Streamline deployment processes and eliminate repetitive manual tasks

• Continuously improve operational efficiency through infrastructure-as-code practices

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5 to 8+ years of hands-on middleware or infrastructure administration experience

• Advanced expertise in IBM MQ administration, including queue tuning and performance optimization

• Proven experience managing clustered IBM MQ environments in production

• Strong proficiency with Unix/Linux command-line tools and administration

• Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and network architecture

• Familiarity with related technologies such as IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Integration Bus (IIB), Apache Kafka, or WebSphere Application Server
