Job summary

Luxoft India is seeking an IBM MQ Developer/Administrator to design and maintain MQ‑based messaging solutions across distributed environments, including mainframe Z/OS and cloud integrations. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize MQ components while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires strong MQ hands‑on experience, Java/XML/JMS/REST, and knowledge of high availability and middleware integrations such as IIB/ACE and MuleSoft.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on IBM MQ experience.
• Knowledge of mainframe scripting and distributed Linux environments.
• HA on MQ & distributed platforms knowledge.
• Proficiency in Java, XML, JMS, REST APIs and messaging concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting with MQ logs and traces.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IBM MQ‑based messaging solutions including queue managers, queues, channels, and listeners.
• Monitor MQ environments for message flow, availability, and health, and address issues proactively.
• Troubleshoot MQ incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Integrate MQ with downstream/upstream systems (D365, mainframe Z/OS, cloud) and utilize IIB/ACE.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to ensure smooth MQ operations.

Project Description

The IBM MQ Developer/Admin is responsible for configuring, maintaining, supporting & troubleshooting message-based integration solutions using IBM MQ and related middleware technologies. The role focuses on system-to-system integration across distributed enterprise environments including mainframe.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IBM MQ-based messaging solutions including queue managers, queues, channels, and listeners, cluster environments, certificate management. Manage and administer MQ components including queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, topics, and subscriptions Monitor MQ environments to ensure message flow, availability, and system health, and proactively address issues Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for MQ incidents such as stuck messages, performance degradation, and connectivity failures Expertise in Mainframe Z/OS , structure and libraries, logs troubleshooting Develop and support message flows, integrations, and transformations using IBM MQ, IIB/ACE, Java, XML, and related technologies Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to integrate MQ with downstream and upstream systems (Microsoft D365, mainframe Z/OS, clusters, distributed apps, cloud platforms) 8. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for MQ-related issues including message delays, throughput issues, and connectivity problems

Mandatory Skills

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ Knowledgeable of mainframe scripting and distributed platform e.g. Linux Have knowledge of high availability on MQ & distributed platforms Have knowledge of ServiceNow to log a ticket and follow up as needed Comprehensive knowledge of messaging concepts, including queues, topics, channels, persistence, and transactions Proficient in Java, XML, JMS, REST API's and foundational message transformation Advanced troubleshooting abilities with proven expertise in analyzing MQ logs and traces

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experienced with integration middleware MuleSoft and knowledgeable in Azure
