Job summary

Nord Anglia Education is seeking an experienced IB Diploma Programme Economics teacher for Oakridge International School, Bachupally, Hyderabad, to deliver DP Economics for Grades 11 and 12 in a premier Nord Anglia Education school.

You will plan, deliver, assess, and continually enhance learning experiences, aligning with IB Standards and Practices while contributing to pastoral care, curriculum development, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Economics or related field
• B.Ed. qualification (mandatory for India)
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience including IB Diploma Programme Economics
• Strong understanding of the IB Diploma Programme, assessment practices, and IB Standards & Practices
• Experience teaching Economics at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL)
• Excellent lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment skills
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning
• High level of professional integrity and safeguarding commitment

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in IB Diploma Programme Economics for Grades 11 and 12
• Plan, deliver, assess and continually improve learning experiences developing students' conceptual understanding and analytical skills
• Contribute to wider academic life through pastoral care, curriculum development, planning, and professional learning
• Participate in co-curricular programmes and whole-school initiatives
• Collaborate with Heads of Department, IB Diploma Programme Coordinator and academic leadership to ensure standards

Job Purpose

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in IB Diploma Programme (DP) Economics for Grades 11 and 12, ensuring outstanding academic outcomes and fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and global perspectives aligned with the IB philosophy.
• Plan, deliver, assess, and continuously improve learning experiences that develop students' conceptual understanding, analytical skills, research capabilities, and readiness for higher education while maintaining compliance with IB Standards and Practices.
• Contribute to the wider academic life of the school through pastoral care, curriculum development, collaborative planning, professional learning, and active participation in co‑curricular programmes and whole‑school initiatives.
