About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhopal for an IB DP Economics Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, inquiry-based Economics curriculum to students in the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12).
The role focuses on more than just theory; you will empower students to understand complex global systems through the lens of the IB’s 9 key concepts, preparing them for both their final examinations and their future roles as global citizens.
Daily Tasks
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons for both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) Economics.
- Mentoring students through the Internal Assessment (IA) process, including portfolio development and commentary writing.
- Supervising Extended Essays (EE) in Economics, guiding students through rigorous academic research.
- Integrating Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and International Mindedness into the economics syllabus.
- Utilizing data-driven insights to monitor student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback.
- Connecting classroom learning to real-world economic events through case studies and contemporary news analysis.
- Collaborating with the “Individuals and Societies” department on vertical curriculum alignment.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field.
- A professional teaching qualification (B.Ed. or PGCE) is preferred, though candidates currently pursuing these may be considered.
- A deep interest in the IB assessment criteria, specifically for Paper 3 (HL Policy Paper) and IAs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex global economic theories for young learners.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple academic deadlines (EE, IA, and Predicted Grades).
- Familiarity with digital tools and graphing software for economic modeling.
- Prior experience with the IB curriculum is a plus, but not mandatory for those with strong subject knowledge.
