Job summary

Rinix Automation, based in Navi Mumbai, seeks a skilled hydraulic design engineer to reverse engineer and develop in-house power pack solutions. You will design 7.5 HP to 30 HP packs, selecting pumps, motors, tanks, manifolds, valves and related components to meet pressure, flow, and duty requirements.

The role involves drafting hydraulic circuits, BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and testing manifold blocks and valve assemblies, while collaborating with Design, Purchase, Assembly and Service teams

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical / Hydraulic / Mechatronics engineering.
• Practical experience with industrial hydraulics and power packs.
• Knowledge of valves, pumps and cylinders.
• Ability to calculate pressure, flow, pump displacement and cycle time.
• Experience with hydraulic presses or machine-tool hydraulics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer hydraulic power packs and develop in-house designs.
• Design power packs from 7.5 HP to 30 HP based on pressure, flow and duty cycle.
• Select and size pumps, motors, tanks, manifolds, valves, and fittings.
• Create hydraulic circuits for punching, clamping, sequencing and multi-cylinder apps.
• Prepare hydraulic diagrams, BOMs, specs and manufacturing drawings.
• Develop and test manifold blocks and valve assemblies.
• Troubleshoot pressure loss, overheating, leakage, noise and slow cycles.
• Conduct pressure and flow testing of completed power packs.
• Collaborate with Design, Purchase, Assembly and Service teams for standardization.

Role & responsibilities

• Reverse engineer existing hydraulic power packs and develop our in-house power pack designs.
• Design power packs from 7.5 HP to 30 HP based on required pressure, flow (LPM), duty cycle and cylinder operation.
• Select and size pumps, motors, tanks, manifolds, valves, filters, coolers, accumulators, hoses and fittings.
• Design hydraulic circuits for punching, clamping, sequencing and multi-cylinder applications.
• Prepare hydraulic circuit diagrams, BOMs, component specifications and manufacturing drawings.
• Develop and test manifold blocks and valve assemblies.
• Troubleshoot issues such as pressure loss, overheating, leakage, noise, slow cycle time and cylinder synchronization.
• Conduct pressure, flow and performance testing of completed power packs.
• Work with Design, Purchase, Assembly and Service teams for standardization and continuous improvement.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Hydraulic / Mechatronics Engineering.
• Practical experience with industrial hydraulics and hydraulic power packs.
• Strong knowledge of directional, pressure and flow-control valves, pumps and hydraulic cylinders.
• Ability to calculate pressure, flow, motor HP, pump displacement, cylinder force and cycle time.
• Experience in hydraulic presses, punching machines, SPMs or machine-tool hydraulics preferred.
• Ability to independently take a requirement from circuit design component selection assembly testing troubleshooting.
