Job summary

Preston Hydraulics Pvt Ltd. in Mumbai is seeking a Design Engineer to design and manufacture custom hydraulic powerpacks, cylinders, manifolds and rotary actuators. You will create 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, seals, machining and welding processes. You will collaborate with shop floor teams for assembly, testing and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD design tools, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong foundational knowledge of hydraulic fluid power pack principles, sealing technologies, machining, and welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for hydraulic cylinders, manifolds, and powerpacks using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Perform accurate calculations for sizing, pressure, stroke, and flow requirements for hydraulic systems.
• Select appropriate hydraulic components (pumps, valves, seals, manifolds, and motors) based on client and application needs.
• Prepare detailed BOM, hydraulic schematics, and quality testing procedures.
• Assist shop floor workers during assembly, troubleshooting, and in-house testing/quality assurance protocols.
