Job summary

FLSmidth in Chennai, India, is seeking a Hydraulic System Engineer - Filtration to lead the development and optimization of hydraulic systems for filtration equipment, ensuring quality, cost and performance targets are met.

You will design schematics, select components, perform sizing, run tests at supplier and customer sites, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical and manufacturing teams to enable seamless integration of hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of overall professional experience.
• Knowledge of Solidworks and Autocad is expected. Experience in Analysis software is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic systems with design, manufacturing and testing.
• Lead and work in teams and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of hydraulic systems for filtration equipment.
• Develop hydraulic schematics, power unit and manifold layouts, and complete system designs.
• Select hydraulic components based on load, flow and pressure requirements; prepare BOMs.

Hydraulic System Engineer - Filtration

• Lead the development and optimization of hydraulic systems for filtration equipment, including Filter Presses, Vertical Filters, HBF, Drum Filters, and Disc Filters, ensuring quality, cost, and performance targets are met.
• Develop hydraulic schematics, power unit and manifold layouts, and complete system designs, including product customization.
• Select hydraulic components based on load, flow, and pressure requirements; perform system sizing and calculations, and prepare bills of materials (BOMs).
• Conduct testing and validation at supplier and customer sites, and provide technical support for troubleshooting hydraulic issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of hydraulic systems.
• Support global and regional engineering requirements while ensuring compliance with FLS guidelines and standards.
• Actively contribute to team objectives and travel to customer and supplier sites for technical discussions, inspections, and troubleshooting as required.
  

What you bring

• 10–12 years of overall professional experience.
• Knowledge and skills with IT tools like Solidworks and Autocad is expected. Experience in Analysis software will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic system with design, manufacturing and testing
• Good Knowledge in handling vendor products associated with the filtration equipment’s
• Broad knowledge in Manufacturing processes, materials and global quality standards
• Should be able to lead and work in teams
• Good in English at 'negotiation level' both written and orally
• Conceptual thinking, visualization & technical problem solving ability
• Expected to deliver results and meet customer expectations
