Job summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Design Engineer to lead the hydraulic design of sewerage networks, pumping stations and STPs in Bengaluru. You will perform hydraulic calculations, determine pipe sizes and slopes, and prepare L-Sections and hydraulic grade lines for projects in the water and wastewater sector.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience, with hands-on expertise in design deliverables and mass balance

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering / Public Health Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in design.
• Strong experience in hydraulic design of sewer networks, STPs, and pumping systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic design of sewerage collection networks, rising mains, gravity sewers, pumping stations and STPs.
• Carry out hydraulic calculations using Manning's equation and related methods.
• Design sewer sizes, slopes, flow velocities and hydraulic profiles; prepare L-Sections and hydraulic grade lines.

Job Description

• Perform hydraulic design of:
  • Sewerage collection networks
  • Rising mains and gravity sewer systems
  • Pumping stations
  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs)
• Hydraulic calculations using Manning's equation and other relevant methods.
• Design sewer sizes, slopes, flow velocities and hydraulic profiles.
• Prepare Longitudinal Sections (L-Sections) and hydraulic grade lines.
• Analyze wet weather flow, infiltration and inflow.
• Design pumping systems and pump head calculations.

Process Design

• Prepare process design calculations for STPs.
• Selection and sizing of:
  • Screens
  • Grit Chambers
  • Equalization Tanks
  • Primary Clarifiers
  • Biological Reactors (ASP, MBBR, SBR, MBR etc.)
  • Secondary Clarifiers
  • Tertiary Treatment Units
  • Sludge Handling Systems
• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
• Develop Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Design sludge treatment and reuse systems.
• Prepare mass balance and hydraulic calculations.
