Job summary

Prasa Infocom & Power solutions seeks a Site Supervisor for HVAC installation and site supervision in India. You will oversee ducting, piping, AHUs, VRF/VRV units, chillers and pumps, ensuring work adheres to drawings and safety standards.

Candidates should have 5–10 years in HVAC and at least 2 years as a supervisor, with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI/NCVT in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (BE/BTech is a plus).

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in HVAC and mechanical installation.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory/foreman role.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, hospital or data centre projects preferred.
• Ability to read HVAC and mechanical drawings and shop drawings.
• Basic site reporting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Site supervision and installation of HVAC systems per drawings.
• Plan daily/weekly work and coordinate technicians.
• Quality checks, pressure and leak tests, and commissioning support.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting and BMS teams.
• Enforce PPE, permit-to-work and safety practices.
• Handover and maintenance support documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Site supervision and installation

• Supervise installation of ducting, chilled water and refrigerant piping, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV units, chillers, pumps, cooling towers and exhaust and ventilation systems.
• Read and work from approved drawings, shop drawings and method statements; ensure installation matches design and site conditions.
• Oversee insulation, hangers and supports, vibration isolation, dampers, grilles and diffusers.
• Check alignment, levels, clearances, brazing and welding quality, and flange and joint integrity before sign-off.

Manpower and work planning

• Plan daily and weekly work, and assign tasks to technicians, fitters, welders, ductmen and helpers.
• Monitor subcontractor crews, productivity and attendance; report shortfalls to the Project Engineer.
• Track material requirements, request issue from stores and prevent wastage or damage on site.
• Record daily progress and update the Project Engineer on delays, clashes and pending approvals.

Quality and testing

• Carry out pre-installation and stage inspections; raise inspection requests and close snags promptly.
• Support pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, duct leakage tests and equipment start-up with OEM engineers.
• Assist in testing, adjusting and balancing, and in pre-commissioning checks.
• Ensure rework is minimised through correct workmanship and first-time-right execution.

Coordination

• Coordinate daily with electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, civil and BMS teams on shared spaces, shafts and ceiling services.
• Interface with client and consultant representatives during site inspections.

Health, safety and compliance

• Enforce PPE use, permit-to-work, safe working at height, hot work and lifting practices.
• Conduct toolbox talks and report incidents and near misses immediately.
• Maintain tool and equipment condition, housekeeping and material storage standards.

Handover and maintenance support

• Help compile as-built markups, test records and handover documents.
• Support defect liability period (DLP) visits, breakdown response and preventive maintenance where assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or ITI/NCVT in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Fitter or equivalent. B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.

Experience

• 5–10 years in HVAC and mechanical installation, including at least 2 years as a supervisor or foreman.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, hospital or data centre projects preferred.

Technical skills

• Reading HVAC and mechanical drawings, piping layouts and equipment schedules.
• Practical knowledge of chilled water, VRF/VRV, ducting and ventilation systems, brazing and welding practices.
• Understanding of pressure testing, leak testing and commissioning procedures.
• Basic use of MS Office and site reporting tools.

Soft skills

• Leading and motivating crews, giving clear instructions and resolving site disputes.
• Strong discipline on safety, quality and housekeeping.
• Clear reporting to engineers and managers in English and the local language.

Preferred

• First-aid, working-at-height or safety supervisor certification.
• Valid trade or contractor licence where required.
• Willingness to relocate between project sites.
