Job summary

Accor in Chennai is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a dynamic team and uphold the highest cleanliness standards across guestrooms and public areas.

You will conduct inspections, manage deep-cleaning programs, supervise recruitment and performance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality policies while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of leadership experience in the Housekeeping Department.
• Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly responsible & reliable.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and manage the housekeeping team with clear communication, training, coaching, and feedback.
• Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms, public areas, exterior spaces, and back-of-house areas to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Monitor and oversee deep cleaning programs, assign tasks, and ensure smooth workflow.
• Manage staff recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions with transparent communication.
• Issue daily assignments, review special requests, and manage the Lost and Found system.
• Control inventory by issuing supplies at shift starts and manage expenses.
• Respond promptly to guest questions and requests to enhance the guest experience.
• Ensure compliance with accident prevention, health and sanitation regulations, and quality standards.
• Analyze operational data to identify improvements and implement changes for efficiency and service quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate services and resolve issues timely.

• Monitor and oversee the completion of deep cleaning programs, assign tasks strategically, and ensure smooth workflow throughout the department
• Manage staff recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions while maintaining transparent and empathetic communication with all team members
• Issue daily assignments to staff, review special requests and priority areas, and manage the Lost and Found system to ensure optimal coordination and guest satisfaction
• Control inventory by issuing supplies and goods to staff at the beginning of shifts, ensuring adequate resources are available while managing expenses effectively
• Respond promptly to guest questions and requests, providing assistance, direction, and information to enhance the guest experience
• Ensure strict compliance with accident prevention programs, health and sanitation regulations, and quality assurance standards to maintain a safe and clean environment
• Analyze operational data, identify areas for improvement, and recommend and implement procedural changes to enhance efficiency and service quality
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate services and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
