Job summary

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) in Bengaluru seeks a competent Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure cleanliness, orderliness and high standards across the campus. You will lead daily rounds, coordinate with teams, and maintain supply inventories while upholding safety and sanitation policies.

The role requires a university degree (hotel management preferred) or at least 3 years of housekeeping experience, strong coordination skills, and excellent English communication.

Job description

• Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of the entire campus.
• Taking daily rounds of the premises and reporting any lapses/ observations to the relevant teams.
• Ensure that rooms are made as per standard.
• Maintain par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies.
• Organize inventories with Accounts and General Store for linen, uniform and fixed assets.
• Pay particular attention while organizing pest eradication activities.
• Develop and implement housekeeping systems and procedures.
• Prepare reports for management information.
• Train the Housekeeping team members on cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Oversee staff activities on a daily basis.
• Check rooms and common areas, including rooms corridors and washrooms, for cleanliness.
• Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
• Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards.
• Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
• Respond to Guest and student complaints and special requests.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning products in a timely manner.
• Participate in large cleaning projects as required Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas
• Keep abreast with the operating procedures related to the department (Lost and found, timings, attendance system, permission forms etc.)
• Familiar with PPT preparations on various subjects.

Takes ownership of the request or complaint and ensures they are handled effectively within TAT

Preferred candidate profile

• Any Graduation / Post graduation. A university degree in hotel management is preferred or prior experience of at least 3 years in Housekeeping operations.
• Have excellent co-ordination skills.
• Excellent skills to create and maintain MIS in excel sheets.
• Have strong communication & written skills in English language.
• Pleasing personality & strong grooming standards.
