Job summary

Meadowlark Healthcare in Pune is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to dispense medicines accurately, verify prescriptions for dosage and interactions, and maintain proper storage and inventory in the hospital pharmacy.

You will counsel patients, coordinate with doctors, nurses and wards for medication needs, maintain registers, ensure compliance with statutory guidelines, and participate in audits and adverse event reporting.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines accurately as per doctors prescription
• Verify prescriptions for dosage, interactions, and contraindications
• Maintain proper storage of medicines including cold chain and controlled drugs
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and batch numbers
• Indent, receive, and verify medicines from approved vendors
• Maintain pharmacy registers and documentation as per hospital policy
• Ensure availability of emergency and life-saving drugs
• Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, and precautions
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and wards for medication requirements
• Follow statutory guidelines under Drugs & Cosmetics Act
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene in the pharmacy area
• Handle billing entries and coordination with billing department
• Manage returns, near-expiry, and non-moving stock
• Participate in audits and inventory checks
• Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors
