Job summary

Akshaya Patra Foundation in Mumbai is seeking a senior professional to lead HNI partnerships and major-donor engagement. You will identify high-net-worth prospects, craft tailored funding proposals, and mobilize substantial resources to support our school meal program.

Collaborating with programme teams, you will articulate impact, prepare donor updates and impact stories, and ensure compliance with FCRA and internal policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fundraising experience in the development sector or with HNIs/major donors.
• Proven track record of raising funds from HNIs, philanthropists, family foundations, or major individual donors.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop a pipeline of prospective HNI/UHNI donors, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and family offices.
• Understand donors' philanthropic interests and align them with the programme and impact areas.
• Conduct donor meetings, presentations, programme visits, and engagement activities.
• Prepare customized fundraising proposals, concept notes, and investment/impact cases for donors.
• Collaborate with programme teams to communicate impact to donors.
• Prepare donor updates, impact reports, success stories, and customized communication.
• Ensure donor commitments and reporting are fulfilled within timelines.
• Ensure compliance with NGO, FCRA, tax, and internal fundraising policies.

Job Description -

The role will be responsible for building strong, long term relationships with HNI donors, understanding their philanthropic interests, developing compelling funding proposals, and mobilizing significant resources to support the organizations programme and mission.

• Identify and develop a pipeline of prospective HNI/UHNI donors, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and family offices.
• Understand donors philanthropic interests and align them with the organizations programme and impact areas.
• Conduct regular donor meetings, presentations, programme visits, and engagement activities.
• Prepare customized fundraising proposals, concept notes, presentations, and investment/impact cases for prospective donors.
• Work closely with programme teams to communicate the organizations impact effectively to donors.
• Prepare donor updates, impact reports, success stories, and customized communication.
• Ensure donor commitments and reporting requirements are fulfilled within agreed timelines.
• Ensure compliance with applicable NGO, FCRA, tax, and internal fundraising policies.

Education:

• Bachelors / Masters degree in any discipline.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in fundraising, major-donor/HNI engagement, philanthropy, CSR, development sector, or relationship management.
• Proven track record of raising funds from HNIs, philanthropists, family foundations, or major individual donors will be strongly preferred.
