• Manage procurement of medicines, medical and surgical consumables, equipment, implants, and general hospital materials.
• Ensure timely availability of materials as per hospital requirements.
• Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate prices with vendors.
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain approved vendor lists.
• Prepare purchase orders as per approved indents, budgets, and hospital policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stores and Pharmacy to prevent stock-outs and overstocking.
• Ensure cost control through competitive pricing, rate contracts, and effective negotiations.
• Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical departments for procurement requirements.
• Monitor vendor performance, delivery schedules, product quality, and service standards.
• Ensure proper documentation of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and contracts.
• Coordinate with Finance and Accounts for invoice verification and vendor payments.
• Monitor expiry, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory to minimize losses.
• Ensure compliance with hospital procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports on purchase expenses, cost savings, pending orders, and vendor performance.
• Supervise the purchase team and ensure efficient supply chain operations.
