Job Summary

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and successfully delivering IT projects within the agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. The role requires effective coordination with customers, internal technical teams, vendors, and management to ensure successful project execution while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

The Project Manager is expected to provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle, proactively manage risks, ensure governance compliance, and drive continuous improvement in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
  • Plan, execute, monitor, and close IT projects in accordance with organizational project management standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet agreed quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions whenever required.
Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage customer expectations and resolve delivery-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective communication.
Communication Management
  • Provide timely, accurate, and transparent project status updates to customers and management.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports.
  • Escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings and document meeting minutes and action items.
  • Ensure effective communication across cross-functional teams.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Maintain and regularly update RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
  • Escalate critical risks and issues in a timely manner.
  • Drive resolution of project blockers through coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, profitability, and resource utilization.
  • Track project revenue, invoicing milestones, and billing schedules.
  • Review project financial performance regularly.
  • Support contract compliance and change request management.
  • Ensure timely customer invoicing and vendor coordination.
Resource Management
  • Coordinate with resource managers to allocate appropriate resources.
  • Monitor team utilization and productivity.
  • Resolve resource conflicts and capacity constraints.
  • Support onboarding of project resources.
Project Governance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational project management methodologies.

  • Obtain customer acceptance for project deliverables.

  • Ensure successful project handover to operations/support teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or PGDM (preferred).
Experience
  • 6–12 years of experience in IT services or software implementation.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing end-to-end IT projects.
  • Experience managing enterprise customers across industries such as Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, or Government.
  • Experience in application implementation, infrastructure projects, cloud migration, cybersecurity, or managed services is desirable.
