Job summary

Think People Solutions in Chennai seeks an Automation Design Engineer to design electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs for water treatment projects from concept to completion.

You will develop PLC/HMI architectures, select hardware, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage mid-to-large panel projects while supporting SAP-based procurement. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or Siemens platforms is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing electrical schematics and panel layouts for industrial automation projects.
• Knowledge of PLC and HMI architectures with hardware selection experience.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and develop documents like Power Schematics, Control Schematics, and Panel Layout.
• Develop control system architecture for PLC and HMI systems and select appropriate hardware.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and electrical codes; manage projects from concept to completion.
• Hands-on exposure to ABB/Schneider/Siemens platforms and BOM development; SAP-based procurement support.

Essential Responsibilities Expectations

• Perform design and develop documents like Power Schematics, Control Schematics, Industrial control/power Panel Design, GA drawing, Panel Layout, BOM and Loop Diagrams
• Develop control system architecture for PLC and HMI systems and select appropriate hardware
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, electrical codes
• Execute mid to large panel design projects for water treatment applications (MBR, UF, RO, etc.) with minimal supervision from concept to completion
• Hands‑on exposure to Allen‑Bradley systems (experience with Schneider and Siemens platforms is an added advantage)
• Developing Bill of Material and manage procurement process through SAP is an advantage
