Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud and Spring Security.
• Experience using GenAI tools to accelerate code conversion, testing and documentation.
• Experience with JBOSS, Hibernate, Docker, Kubernetes and Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle and JPA/Hibernate mappings.
• Build tools and CI/CD: Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy applications into decoupled Java Spring microservices.
• Leverage AI tools to refactor, migrate codebases and remediate security issues.
• Upgrade servers, OS, databases and third-party libraries for Jakarta EE/Spring Boot 3.x.

Job Description for Gen AI engineer –

Role Overview:

Work as Developer/ Sr. Developer for modernization of legacy enterprise systems into modern, cloud-native Java Spring architectures. This role goes beyond manual coding; need to leverage Generative AI coding assistants, LLMs, and automated refactoring agents to rapidly migrate old tech stacks, refactor code bases, update underlying infrastructure including servers, OS, DBs & third party libraries, and remediate security vulnerabilities at scale.

Core Responsibilities

• Microservices modernization: Analyse complex, legacy applications and use AI tools to accelerate decomposition into decoupled, domain-driven Java Spring Boot microservices on latest tech stack.
• Code Modernization: Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to upgrade legacy codebases from Java 8/11 to Java 17/21.
• API Modernization: Refactor outdated SOAP web services, EJBs, or RMI architectures into secure, performant RESTful APIs or gRPC endpoints.

Infrastructure, OS, DB & Server Modernization

• Upgrade application servers, OS to latest versions
• Database Migration: Modernize database layers by updating legacy JDBC/Hibernate code, to latest applicable versions
• Dependency Upgrades: Audit and upgrade outdated third-party open-source libraries (e.g., old versions of Apache Commons, Log4j, Guava) to active, supported versions compatible with Jakarta EE and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Use AI-driven SAST/DAST tools and dependency scanners (Snyk, SonarQube, Veracode) to identify and automatically remediate vulnerabilities, CVEs, and tech debt.
• Prior experience in TIBCO preferred

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Java & Spring Expertise: Deep knowledge of Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• AI Tooling & Prompt Engineering: Proven experience using GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Amazon Q, or specialized AI refactoring agents) to accelerate code conversion, test generation, and documentation.
• Servers & Systems: Strong experience with JBOSS, Hibernate, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux.
• Databases: Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and JPA/Hibernate mapping optimizations.
• Build & CI/CD: Proficiency with Maven/Gradle, Git, and automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
