Location: Chennai
Qualification: BE/BTech/ME/MTech (Mechanical/Automotive/Electrical), PhD (Engine/Thermal/Climate)
Experience: 4 to 8 years
Notice Period: Immediate to 45 days
Skill set: MATLAB, Simulink, GT-Suite, AVL-Cruise, Amesim, M-scripting, Github, IC Engine, HEV
Domain Knowledge
- 3+ years of experience with analyzing various hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) architectures such as full, plug-in, series, parallel, powersplit, and range extender systems.
- 3+ years of experience with operation, modelling and control of internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systems for ensuring regulatory compliance.
- 3+ years of experience with MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow.
- 3+ years of experience with other relevant simulation tools (e.g., GT-SUITE, AVL CRUISE M, AMESim, etc.).
- Direct experience with model development of specific complex xEV architectures (e.g., powersplit, series, parallel, and advanced multi-mode hybrids). (good to have)
- Good understanding of EPA emissions regulations for light-duty / heavy-duty vehicles. (good to have)
- Working knowledge of thermal, climate systems and passenger comfort as applied to hybrid electric architectures. (good to have)
- Experience with optimization techniques and tools applied to engineering problems like ModeFrontier.
- Experience in MATLAB based scripting/Python based scripting. (good to have)
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Conduct detailed vehicle-level attribute analysis (fuel economy, performance, emissions, thermal management, passenger comfort) using high-fidelity simulation models across diverse xEV architectures to drive development and optimisation of Ford's current and future xEV offerings.
- Perform functional validation and correlation of high-fidelity vehicle and propulsion system models against physical test data, ensuring accuracy and reliability across steady-state and transient operating conditions.
- Lead and execute large-scale attribute optimisation studies leveraging HPC/cloud environments to balance system performance objectives over regulatory cycles and representative real-world customer driving profiles.
- Develop intuitive dashboards and reports to effectively visualise and communicate complex simulation results and real-world data insights to engineering.
