Job summary

Flexy Managers is seeking a Head - Supply Chain for its pharmaceutical formulations business in Chennai. The role oversees end-to-end supply chain functions including planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics to ensure product availability, cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will drive S&OP, demand & supply planning, production planning and strategic sourcing for APIs, excipients and packaging materials, while leading a high-performing SC team and ensuring

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in Supply Chain / Materials Management.
• Senior leadership experience (5+ years).
• Mandatory experience in Pharmaceutical Formulations / Finished Dosage manufacturing.
• Exposure to S&OP, Demand & Supply Planning, Procurement, Production Planning, Inventory, Warehousing and Logistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Supply Chain operations across planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics.
• Drive S&OP, demand forecasting, supply planning and production planning.
• Develop long-range supply and capacity plans aligned with business requirements.
• Lead procurement of APIs, excipients, primary/secondary packaging and other materials.
• Manage strategic sourcing, vendor development, negotiations and supplier performance.
• Optimize RM, PM, WIP and Finished Goods inventory and improve working capital.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and finished products while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Oversee warehousing and domestic/international logistics operations.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product phase-out planning.
• Ensure GMP/GDP and applicable pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
• Drive supply-chain process improvements, cost optimization and digital/ERP adoption.
• Lead and develop the Supply Chain team while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance & Commercial.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Head - Supply Chain to lead the end-to-end supply chain function for our pharmaceutical formulation business. The role will oversee planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics while ensuring product availability, cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Candidate Profile

• 20+ years of experience in Supply Chain / Materials Management.
• Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Mandatory experience in Pharmaceutical Formulations / Finished Dosage manufacturing.
• Strong exposure to S&OP, Demand & Supply Planning, Procurement, Production Planning, Inventory, Warehousing and Logistics.
• Experience handling APIs, excipients and pharmaceutical packaging materials.
• Strong understanding of GMP/GDP and regulatory compliance.
• Exposure to SAP/S4HANA or other ERP systems and supply-chain analytics.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred Designations: Head / VP / AVP / Director / GM / SGM Supply Chain, Materials or Planning & Supply Chain.

Note: Candidates with only Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse or Planning experience without end-to-end Supply Chain leadership exposure may not be suitable.
