Job summary

ALPAULS is seeking a Head – Raw Material (RM) Purchase in Koparkhairne, Navi Mumbai. The role requires 20–22 years of leadership experience in strategic RM sourcing and strong domestic/international vendor networks. You will direct import procurement, price negotiations, and supplier agreements to ensure uninterrupted material supply.

The ideal candidate will lead a procurement team, manage budgets, and drive cost optimization in a complex chemical materials environment.

Qualifications

• 20–22 years of leadership experience in Raw Material procurement
• Experience in domestic and international vendor development
• Strong knowledge of chemical raw materials market and pricing
• Proven ability to manage import procurement and logistics
• Experience with SAP/ERP for procurement management
• Contract and long-term supplier agreement experience
• Team leadership and KPI/SOP implementation

Responsibilities

• Lead overall Raw Material procurement function and develop long-term strategies
• Manage sourcing and procurement of critical raw materials for manufacturing
• Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers
• Identify alternate suppliers and ensure uninterrupted material availability
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, freight, and delivery schedules
• Oversee import procurement, freight forwarders, and customs coordination
• Monitor global chemical markets and price movements
• Optimize inventory, working capital, and procurement costs
• Identify procurement risks and develop contingency sourcing plans
• Lead and mentor procurement team and drive KPIs/SOPs
• Coordinate with Production, R&D, QA, Finance, Logistics, Stores and others
• Prepare procurement, vendor performance, cost-saving, import and inventory reports

*Job Responsibilities:*

*Preferred Industry:* Specialty Chemicals / Petrochemicals / Agrochemicals / Pharmaceuticals / Industrial Chemicals

*Candidates with experience in procurement of *IPA, Phenol, Acetone, Toluene, MIBK, N-Hexane, Caustic Soda, Acetic Acid, Octanol, Sodium Sulphide, laboratory chemicals and other industrial chemical feedstocks* will be preferred.*

*Candidates should have *minimum 10 years of leadership experience* managing procurement teams.*
