Job summary

Roots Group in Coimbatore area seeks a Head of Quality Assurance to drive the plant's QA, process QA, and customer quality functions across manufacturing steps including assembly, machining, casting, painting and coating.

You will own the 8D problem-solving process, lead audits (ISO 13485/AS9100/ISO 9001), and steer QA metrics and improvements with a focus on rapid root-cause analysis and proactive cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Expertise in QA, including Customer Quality, QC and quality improvements.
• Experience handling customer complaints with RCAs and 8D reports.
• Knowledge of STA function and coaching STA resources.
• Familiar with APQP/AS9145, PPAP/FAI, PFMEA/Control Plan, SPC, MSA, 8D.
• Lead auditor certification per ISO 13485/AS9100/ISO 9001.
• Familiar with AIAG CQI processes, including painting, casting and coating.
• Ability to drive QA across plant processes and respond rapidly to issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inward QA, process QA and barrier audits across manufacturing processes.
• Ensure effective implementation of Customer Quality function.
• Oversee STA function and guide STA resources.
• Drive Customer Driven Improvement Projects.
• Accountable for QA metrics and functional deliverables.

Head Quality Assurance

• Overall responsible forensuring the effective implementation of Plant Quality Assurance function,including Inward QA, Process QA across manufacturing processes, QA inspectionand Barrier Audit.
• Overall responsible forensuring the effective implementation of Customer Quality function.
• Overall responsible foreffective implementation of STA function.
• Overall responsible for Customer Driven Improvement Projects
• Accountable for the functional deliverables, including Customer related Quality Metrics

Requirements

• Expertize & work experience in Quality Assurance function, including Customer Quality, Quality Control and Quality Improvements
• Effectively handling reported Customer complaints / concerns, ensure Root Cause Analysis and submission of 8D reports in a timely manner
• Knowledge in STA function and able to guide / coach STA resources for achieving functional objectives
• Knowledge in APQP / AS9145, PPAP / FAI, PFMEA / Control Plan, SPC, MSA, DFM, DFA, 8D
• Internal or Lead auditor certification based on ISO 13485 / AS9100 / ISO 9001
