Job summary

Rays Power Experts Limited is seeking an experienced Head – Protection Systems to lead protection philosophy, settings, testing, commissioning and fault analysis across our renewable energy portfolio, including HT yards and substations up to 132 kV. The role involves coordination with grid interfaces and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in protection design reviews, settings and commissioning.
• Knowledge of 132 kV+ protection schemes and testing.

Head Protection Systems

Rays Power Experts Limited is looking for an experienced Head – Protection Systems to lead the protection philosophy, settings, testing, commissioning and fault analysis across the company's renewable energy portfolio, including HT yards, 33 kV and 132 kV substations, BESS-integrated plants and grid interface points.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead protection design review, relay selection, protection schemes and CT/PT sizing.
• Own and maintain the master protection settings register across all plants.
• Conduct protection coordination and grading studies.
• Provide protection clearance before energisation of HT yards and 132 kV substations.
• Lead periodic protection health checks, relay testing, CT/PT checks, earth resistance, DC system and trip circuit checks.
• Analyse disturbance records and fault events and drive root-cause closure.
• Coordinate with RVPN, SLDC and Discom protection teams.
• Develop and manage the annual protection testing calendar.
• Manage protection testing equipment, spares and calibration.
• Train and develop site-level protection teams.
• Prepare monthly protection MIS covering trips, generation loss, root causes and testing compliance.
