Job summary

G M ENGINEERING PVT LTD is seeking a Head of Quality based in Rajkot, Gujarat. The role leads all quality activities, establishes and improves QMS, and ensures compliance with API Q1 and API 6D standards.

You will supervise a team of about 20 engineers, coordinate with production, design and procurement, and drive CAPA, audits, and process validation across our valve manufacturing operations.

Role Description

The Head of Quality is a full-time, on-site position based in Rajkot (Gujarat), responsible for leading and overseeing all quality-related activities across the organization. This role includes establishing, implementing, and continuously improving quality management systems and standards for industrial valves, aligned with regulatory and customer requirements. The Head of Quality will plan and supervise quality control operations on the shop floor, monitor inspection processes, and ensure product compliance at every stage of manufacturing & Lead Team of 20 Engineers. Daily tasks involve conducting and reviewing internal quality audits, analyzing quality data and trends, managing corrective and preventive actions, and collaborating with production, design, and procurement teams to address quality issues. The role also includes managing quality documentation, guiding and mentoring the quality team, interacting with customers and external auditors on quality matters, and driving a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Quality Management and Quality Assurance, including developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and having deep knowledge of API Q1, & API 6D standard.
• Hands-on experience in Quality Control activities such as inspections, testing, and process validation in a industrial valve manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Quality Auditing, with the ability to plan and conduct internal audits and support external and customer audits.
• Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret quality data, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in valves, engineering components, or related heavy industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced certifications in quality (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma) are an advantage.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing quality teams and working cross-functionally with production, design, and supply chain.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and customers on quality topics.
