Job summary

PhonePe is seeking a Director of Product to own the roadmap for international payment solutions for merchants. You will lead cross-functional teams, shape the portfolio strategy, and evangelize plans across stakeholders to realize opportunities and impact.

You will partner with the merchant business unit to align on strategy, drive execution, and scale solutions for international merchants. The role requires deep domain experience and leadership across product, business, and tech teams.

As a Director of Product at PhonePe, you will own and drive the roadmap for our payment solutions products for international merchants. You will work with other pod members and a diverse set of stakeholders towards a collective set of objectives. We work on complex technology, scale while iterating quickly and have a bias for impact in everything we do.

Leading our International Payment Solutions product portfolio, you will be working with leaders in the merchant business unit to determine the portfolio product strategy. You will be responsible for evangelizing and aligning all the cross-functional stakeholders on the strategy and plans and work on the execution and delivery to realize the identified opportunity and impact.

Qualifications

• Define a portfolio product strategy from first principles that becomes the org’s reference point; drives multi-pod execution and measurable portfolio outcomes

• Identify and delivers multiple Annual Operating Plan-shaping bets; consistently makes correct profitability vs growth calls across portfolio, shifts business trajectory with durable levers (pricing, distribution, unit economics, cost-to-serve)

• Design pod-level org structure and capability plan that materially increases throughput and quality; shapes cross-functional Hiring AOP with high accuracy; prevents bottlenecks before they form.

• Build a strong leadership bench; direct reports consistently progress levels. Establishes pod-wide talent mechanisms with counterparts that raise performance across functions.

• Design and evolve the pod operating system (planning, decision forums, execution reviews, launch readiness, learning loops) with measurable improvements in reliability and speed.

• Demonstrate thought leadership and be the go to person for product decisions for internal and external stakeholders.

• Engage with external customers and stakeholders, communicate objectives and progress.
