PhonePe Invest is seeking a Director of Product to own and drive the roadmap for PhonePe Invest products, from first-time investors to active traders. You will lead with a customer-centric approach, partnering with Business, Engineering, and regulated ecosystems to deliver impactful outcomes.

You will define strategy, align cross-functional stakeholders, and ship end-to-end product experiences with accountability for quality and user trust in a complex financial domain.

About PhonePe Invest

PhonePe Invest is rebuilding trading and investing for India. It's a full-stack broking platform — stocks, F&O, ETFs, mutual funds, IPOs, and Wealth Baskets — with a research and intelligence layer (factor analysis on every stock, expert-curated baskets) sitting on top. It's a separate app from the main PhonePe one, and it's backed by PhonePe's reach, trust, and distribution.

Job Description

As a Director of Product at PhonePe Invest, you will own and drive the roadmap for our PhonePe Invest products catering to for first time investors to seasoned traders. This is a hard but interesting product and design problem. You're working with regulated financial products, real money, and a spectrum of users that runs from a first-time investor buying their first stock to an active trader running F&O strategies. The job is to make something genuinely powerful feel calm and trustworthy — not to bolt more features onto a busy screen.

You will work with other pod members and a diverse set of stakeholders towards a collective set of objectives. We work on complex technology, scale while iterating quickly and have a bias for impact in everything we do. Leading our PhonePe Invest product portfolio, you will be working with leaders in PhonePe ecosystem to determine the portfolio product strategy. You will be responsible for evangelizing and aligning all the cross-functional stakeholders on the strategy and plans and work on the execution and delivery to realize the identified opportunity and impact.

You'll own all aspects of Product and Design for PhonePe Invest end to end. Today that means you, the craft, and a close partnership with Business, Engineering and regulated ecosystem.This is a hands-on leadership role, not a manage-from-a-distance one. As the product grows, you'll build and lead the team around it.
You'll set the Product and Design direction, ship the work yourself when it matters, and be the person accountable for the quality of the experience for all the users. You'll report to the Head of Engineering and work alongside the broader PhonePe org.

Qualifications

As a Director of Product, you will:

Define a portfolio product strategy from first principles that becomes the org’s reference point; drives multi-pod execution and measurable portfolio outcomes

Identify and deliver multiple Annual Operating Plan-shaping bets; consistently make correct profitability vs growth calls across portfolio, shift business trajectory with durable levers (pricing, distribution, unit economics, cost-to-serve)

Design pod-level org structure and capability plan that materially increases throughput and quality; shape cross-functional Hiring AOP with high accuracy; prevent bottlenecks before they form.

Build a strong leadership bench; direct reports consistently progress levels. Establish pod-wide talent mechanisms with counterparts that raise performance across functions.

Design and evolve the pod operating system (planning, decision forums, execution reviews, launch readiness, learning loops) with measurable improvements in reliability and speed.

Demonstrate thought leadership and be the go to person for product decisions for internal and external stakeholders.

Engage with external customers and stakeholders, communicate objectives and progress.

Own the experience. Set the bar for what best looks like on PhonePe Invest, and hold it. Strategy, flows, visual craft, microcopy — you're accountable for all of it.

Ship, don't just direct. Get into the file. Design the experience for our users e2e to give them maximum efficiency and wow during their financial, investment and trading journeys. Prototype to find the answer rather than arguing about it in a doc.

Make complex things simple. Turn dense financial data and regulated flows into something a first-time investor trusts and a serious trader respects. This is the core craft of the job.

Partner closely. Work shoulder to shoulder with Business and engineering as an equal. Bring the user's point of view to roadmap and tradeoff conversations early, not at the end.

At least 15+ years of experience in Product / Platform building and development.

Can build credibility via knowledge and judgment to persuade others.

Conducts interviews for PM/SPM roles and for specific competencies.
